Overview

Gather the family and come spend your vacation at Holiday Hill, the beautifully restored Victorian home on Mirror Lake. Pride of ownership and attention to detail shows in every corner of this charming property that offers a whopping 6 bedrooms and 2 & 1/2 baths! There is central A/C in the house with the exception of one first floor bedroom that has a window A/C unit. There are 2 cable TVs (one in each of the living rooms) as well as wi-fi. The updated kitchen is bright and cheery and offers a large island with seating for the family to gather while the chefs of the group prepare your meals. Remember, there's also a gas grill for those quick burgers and dogs at lunch time. Imagine spending your evenings reconnecting with your loved ones on the huge covered front porch with drop-down screens! How about your morning coffee out on the open deck facing the rolling back lawn which is perfect for your yard games! Speaking of yard games - you can challenge your housemates to a rousing game of Corn Hole in the evening then treat the group to an ice cream in the historic Town of Wolfeboro (the oldest summer resort in America!) - just a 10-minute drive away. Ready to make a splash? It's just a 2-minute walk (500 feet) down the path from the house to your own private shorefront on Mirror Lake (the path crosses a right of way driveway/road that accesses other homes on the lake). At the shore-front you'll find a dock that will accommodate your boat up to 20 feet in length and sand-bottomed frontage from which to take a dip to cool off on a hot summers day. There is a public boat launch on Lake Winnipesaukee just a 2 minute drive away as well. Mirror Lake is 377 acres in size and great for kayaking or canoeing - ask us about local companies that rent small boats if you don't have one to bring with you. At the end of the day there are 6 bedrooms to choose from for a great night's sleep to refresh for your next fun-filled day. You will not want for things to do - The Lakes Region offers great golf and mini golf courses; Funspot - the world's largest arcade; Zip-lining at Gunstock Mountain; Monkey Trunks Ropes Course; hiking; horseback riding; cruises on Lake Winnipesaukee and amazing restaurants ranging from waterfront spots featuring some great local musicians to high end formal dining and - believe it or not - we still have a drive-in movie theatre at Weirs Beach! What are you waiting for? Max: 8 cars.
If you would like to rent linens, the fee for this property is $210 for sheets and $12 per person for towels. If you would like to have the beds made for you, the fee is $8 per bed.

Recent Reviews About This Property

"The house was awesome. There wasn’t a thing that we could possibly think of that the owners didn’t have. There is even a swing and slide set for the little ones. Plenty of room for our large family gathering without feeling on top of each other. I personally felt like we were in our long lost cousins home.

The lake was a hit with the young and the older. I would highly recommend renting this well cared for lake front property. You and your guests will not be disappointed. "

"What a wonderful location and house! This beautiful Victorian was perfect for our family of 12. The inside set-up of the house allowed everyone to be together with the porches adding space for those who had to check in at the office or just wanted to read quietly. The short walk to the dock is a nonissue for most but could provide a little extra security for families worried about children wandering off to the water unattended. The lake is PERFECT for water sports! I don't think there was ever more than 3 boats running at a time. The location has all of the benefits of being on the big lake (grocery stores, restaurants, activities, all a short drive away) without the boat traffic. We rented a boat and it couldn't have been easier. Mirror lake and Holiday Hill were amazing! Hoping to return next year."

"Holiday Hill is a beautiful, big home great for our family vacation with several teenagers. The home has so many updates, but left the charm of 1905 when it was built. Truly love the house itself! Mirror Lake is a beautiful, peaceful lake. My only "negative" comment is that there really is not a sandy swimmable beach at the property as described. "

"Our family of 16 enjoyed this home immensely -- it comfortably slept everyone and we especially enjoyed using the large kitchen with all it amenities, the extra fridge, washer and drier, wifi, TVs, farmer's porch, and large lawn for yard games.

What was lacking was any sort of view from the wonderful farmer's porch -- which when the house was first built in 1905 and what the only property in the area undoubtedly looked out over Lake Winnipesaukee in one directions. Instead we had a view of trees and the roof of the house between us and the lake.

On the Mirror Lake side of the property we made use every day of the dock and swimming area and enjoyed it very much, but be aware that there is no sand/beach -- just a steep drop off from the woods to the lake (where the water is shallow enough to walk into). The grassy/mossy area leading into the water can be slick and the footing a bit tenuous -- and a couple of us older folks weren't real comfortable coming in and out of the water and the dock. In addition, the little shed/porch that would have easily accommodated water toys, and allowed us a flat/level place to place chairs and sit was under construction and unavailable. This would have certainly improved the water experience had it been in use.

All-in-all a very nice family experience for us all from 3 years to 65 years old. "

"We loved the house, plenty of room for us all and very clean. We loved all the lawn space. And the short walk to the water was fine. Plenty of room for swimming and floating down at the beach! "

"The house was great - very clean, lots of space, games provided for a fun game night, extremely comfy couch, wonderful porch - front and back - large lawn for games if you want. Only downside was that we didn't realize how far the house was from everything. With the exception of Wolfeboro, there wasn't much to do that was close by for our (young) children. We ended up driving 1-1.5 hours each day to go do stuff. If you're going to relax and stay local, this is a great location. If you're the kind of people who want to go do things, this wasn't exactly close by. Grocery stores are a bit of a drive, delis and restaurants also seemed to close early (we visited in late August).
